Advice for Yoga Beginners

Are you new here?

Starting practicing yoga may be challenging. Taking that first step can make some people feel anxious.  We're here to help you.

Like anything new, it can take time to feel and understand the benefits.  The heat of a hot yoga class takes a little bit of time to adjust to but with some patience and a little dedication the science of yoga (hot yoga specifically) will gradually unfold.

Make sure you come prepared for class.  We advise you to arrive 10 minutes prior to class because you will need to complete a medical questionnaire.  If you are late, unfortunately you will not be able to enter the studio. We lock the door for safety and as the warm up is vital for preventing injury.   It is recommended that you refrain from eating  2-3 hours prior to class, but please ensure you drink plenty of water.

For the class you will need to bring :

  • Drinking water, we do sell bottled water at the studio, should you forget.

  • A yoga mat and props (yoga blocks, straps etc ) should you have them.  We do have a selection to borrow if needed, please ask at reception.

  • A towel (beach towel size is perfect).

  • Appropriate clothing - Shorts or leggings with a suitable lightweight sports top.

Our Studio is fitted with the best, state of the art heating system, creating the perfect environment to get sweaty.  Our teachers are also well equipped to adjust the heating system, as necessary to make sure everyone breaks a good sweat !

Please feel free to speak to the teachers after class, if you have any questions or concerns.   A good teacher and the right practice can significantly contribute to the enjoyment, growth and understanding.
