WHAT IS HOT YOGA?

As the name implies, people perform yoga under hot and humid conditions. The main difference between a regular yoga class and a hot yoga class is that the former takes place in the specialised room which is kept between 36 and 40 degrees. These conditions are considered part of the process.

There are many reasons why adding heat to the Eden Hot Yoga studio during practice is beneficial...

  • Your body burns fat more effectively; fat may be redistributed and burned as energy during these classes. It is common to lose centimeters of shape in a very short amount of time.

  • The heat produces a fluid like stretch allowing for a greater range of movement in joints, muscles, ligaments and other supporting structures of the body.

  • Capillaries dilate in the heat, more effectively oxygenating tissues, muscles, glands, organs and helping in the removal of waste products.

  • Your metabolism speeds up.

  • You benefit from a strengthening of willpower, self control, concentration and determination.

  • The cardiovascular system gets a thorough workout.

  • Sweating promotes detoxification and elimination through the skin

  • De-stress and unwind

  • Improvement in health conditions such as arthritis, high blood pressure, back pain, dry skin, diabetes, stress, anxiety, depression and thyroid regulation.
